Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 01/01/2025
Thank you for choosing Bark of the Town training. By using our dog training services, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. These terms outline your responsibilities, our commitments, and the structure of the training programs we offer. Please read them carefully.
1. Services Provided
Bark of the Town Training offers personalized dog training programs, including private lessons, day camp programs, and follow-up consultations. We specialize in using modern, humane training methods based on the principles of Operant Conditioning, focusing on safety, consistency, and effectiveness.
2. Program Details
Private Lessons:
Private lessons are designed for dog owners who prefer to be coached on how to train their dog themselves.
Owners are expected to actively participate in the training process and practice techniques between lessons for the best results.
Lessons are scheduled at least one week apart to allow time for practice between sessions.
Day Camp Programs:
For dogs requiring intensive training, or for a more hands-off training experience, our Day Camp program includes training sessions conducted by our trainers, with the dog staying in our care.
Owners will receive a detailed report each day and a final consultation when the training program concludes.
Follow-Up Consultation:
After completing training programs, an in-person follow-up consultation may be scheduled to assess the effectiveness of the training and ensure that the methods are being applied correctly in the home environment.
3. Payment Terms
Payment for services is due in full at the time of booking, unless otherwise agreed upon.
A deposit may be required for specific programs.
Additional lessons can be purchased at a discounted rate if requested or required after the completion of the initial package.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Any cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment will be subject to a cancellation fee of $50.
Rescheduling is allowed with at least 24 hours’ notice. If less than 24 hours' notice is given, a rescheduling fee of $50 may apply.
In the case of an emergency or extenuating circumstances, we will work with you to reschedule your session without penalty.
5. Owner’s Responsibilities
Owners are required to provide honest information about their dog’s behavior, history, and any known medical or behavioral issues that may impact training.
Owners must commit to practicing the techniques and guidelines provided by the trainer between lessons to ensure the training is successful.
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure the dog is in good health for training and to provide any necessary vaccinations or medical clearances.
Owners must comply with any safety instructions given by the trainer, and are responsible for ensuring their dog’s safety during training.
6. Trainer’s Responsibilities
Our trainers are committed to providing the highest standard of training using positive, up-to-date methods grounded in dog psychology and Operant Conditioning principles.
Trainers will offer guidance, feedback, and ongoing support throughout the training process.
We will create a customized training plan for your dog based on their specific needs, progress, and goals.
Trainers will maintain the safety and well-being of your dog during all training sessions.
7. Health and Safety
Clients must inform Bark of the Town Training of any medical conditions, allergies, or behavioral concerns that may affect the dog’s training.
The trainer reserves the right to pause or cancel a session if the dog’s health or behavior poses a risk to their safety or the safety of others.
8. No Guarantees
While we commit to providing the best possible training experience and utilize effective training methods, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, as progress is dependent on the dog’s behavior, the owner’s commitment, and other factors. Results may vary. Refunds will not be issued if services have been rendered.
9. Liability
Bark of the Town Training and its trainers are not responsible for any injuries to dogs or owners that may occur during the course of training.
Clients assume responsibility for their dog’s actions during training and are responsible for any damages caused by their dog during or outside of sessions.
